Every championship has a first race, and the Gulf Championship's will be written at Kuwait Motor Town on 2–5 December 2026. When the lights go out on the opening weekend, the first ever Gulf Championship field — across GT3, Porsche Cup, GT4 and touring cars — will take the green flag under floodlights, and the first names will begin to be etched into the series' history.

The venue

Kuwait Motor Town is one of the most modern facilities in the region, and its fast, flowing GP layout is purpose-built for exactly this kind of racing. Long full-throttle sections feed into heavy braking zones, rewarding drivers who commit and punishing those who don't — and creating the kind of slipstreaming and late-braking overtakes that make for a great spectacle.

Running the opener under floodlights adds to the occasion. As the desert air cools into the evening, grip improves and the track comes alive — and the circuit's lighting turns the season's first race into a genuine showpiece.

What to expect

Practice and qualifying will set the grid before the championship's first races across all four classes. With teams and drivers meeting on track for the very first time, expect a fast-moving order through the weekend as the field finds its feet, set-ups converge and the early benchmarks are established. First impressions count — and a strong opening weekend can set the tone for an entire campaign.

How to follow the weekend

Every session — practice, qualifying and races — will be streamed live with full timing on the championship's official channels, so fans anywhere in the world can follow the action lap by lap. Tickets for the opening round are available through the host circuit, and the build-up will be covered across the championship's news and social channels in the weeks before lights out.

Round 1 is where it all begins. Whoever leads the field across the line in Kuwait will be the first name at the top of the Gulf Championship's very first set of standings — and the chase for the inaugural title will be on.
