Five rounds, four nations: the inaugural 2026/27 calendar revealed

From a December double-header in Kuwait and Qatar to a season finale under the lights at Yas Marina, the Gulf Championship's first calendar is a tightly-packed tour of the region's best circuits.
The inaugural Gulf Championship calendar packs five rounds into a little over three months, criss-crossing the region's premier circuits and building to a floodlit finale in Abu Dhabi. It is a deliberately intense schedule — close enough to keep momentum and narrative alive across the winter, varied enough to test every part of a car and crew.
A December double-header to open
The season lights go out for the very first time at Kuwait Motor Town on 2–5 December 2026. The circuit's fast, flowing GP layout — run under floodlights for the opener — rewards commitment and a confident front end, and should produce strong slipstreaming from the very first race of the championship's history.
Just two weeks later the grid heads to Qatar's Lusail International Circuit (16–19 December). Lusail's billiard-smooth surface and long front straight set up the season's first true slipstreaming battles, and the quick back-to-back with Kuwait means teams will have little time to rest between the opening two rounds.

Into 2027: Bahrain and Dubai
After the winter break the championship resumes at the Bahrain International Circuit on 21–24 January 2027. Known as the home of motorsport in the Middle East, Bahrain's demanding braking zones and notoriously abrasive asphalt make tyre management the decisive factor — a very different test to the flowing opening rounds.
Dubai Autodrome follows on 4–7 February. A technical, multi-configuration circuit in the heart of Motor City, it rewards precision and a well-balanced car over outright power, and historically produces tight, strategic racing — exactly the kind of round that can swing a title fight as the season enters its final stretch.
The finale under the lights
It all comes down to Yas Marina Circuit, Abu Dhabi, on 11–14 March 2027. Champions will be crowned where the day turns to night — the most prestigious stage in Gulf motorsport, and a fitting close to the inaugural season. With four rounds completed and points on the board, expect the title to be live deep into the final weekend.
“Every round feels international. Every detail feels engineered.”
